Support :: Find Your Site
Can't find your Website?
If you are having difficulty finding your own web site then it may help you to review these following points.

- Ensure that you have the correct spelling of your domain name. It is very easy for someone to type in www.glassundries.co.uk instead of www.glasssundries.co.uk. Make sure that you are using your domain and not what you might 'think' is your domain mistakenly i.e. www.glasssupplies.co.uk.
- Ensure that you are using the correct domain extension when trying to reach the website. You will have no doubt noticed that some website domains are .com some .org some .co.uk etc. Make sure that you are using .co.uk if your site is a .co.uk and not using .com for example by mistake
- Ensure that you know and understand the difference between the address bar and the search bar of your browser or web page. The address bar is at the top of the browser and is part of the browser and not part of a web page. On Internet Explorer for example it has the word "Address" written on the browser next to the address bar. Your website will not appear if you type a domain name into the search bar of either your browser or the search bar of a web page. If you accidentally use a search bar instead of the address bar you will see search results which may well include your website, but you will not see your actual website itself.
- If you are searching for your website in a search engine and are not finding it then consider the following points carefully.
- Has the website been on line long enough to be cataloged by the search engines?
A site that has only been on line for a few weeks or even a few months is unlikely to have been cataloged by all search engines. - Even if a site has been cataloged by search engines, All search engines take time to process the results of that cataloging. It is impossible to predict how long this process will take or what the total gap between cataloging and the results being available in a search engine might be.
- Remember that although it sometimes can be a frustrating wait for search engines to catalogue your site there is nothing that can be done about this other than to wait. No one, not us, not you, not anyone (unless you happen to own Google, Yahoo, or MSN etc.) can do about it. No one can guarantee you a search engine ranking. We can do the best we can and we have a very good record for search engine optimisation. However there never can be any absolute guarantee with search engine rankings.
- Has the website been on line long enough to be cataloged by the search engines?
- Not all search engines are the same and not all search engines produce the same results. Your site may well do better in one search engine rather than another.
